Fuzhou is the political, economic and cultural center of Fujian Province. Moreover, it is a famous historical and cultural city, a renowned trade port and one of coastal cities opening to the outside world in China. It is rich in historic sites and tourism resources. Well-known mountains within the cities include Gu (Drum) Mountain, Black Stone Mountain, Yu Mountain and Ping Mountain; famous gardens are West Lake, Left Sea Garden and Fuzhou National Forest Park; well-known temples are Gushing Spring Temple, West Buddhist Temple; renowned towers are Black Pagoda, White Pagoda and Luoxing Pagoda. Besides, there are some important cultural relic sites under state-level protection like Tomb of Lin Zexu, Main Hall of Hualin Temple and so on. The eastern street is the center of its downtown area and Shou Shan Stone is well-known at home and abroad.
