Item Descriptions:
Shifu, a famous music composer in China, was born in Xiangtan County, Hunan Province, China. Even at a very young age he was widely engaged in galanty show. He graduated from Huazhong Senior Normal School for Music & Fine Arts. Stimulated by anti-Japanese songs, he started to create his own songs
After the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, he went down into the countryside to collect folk songs and record tunes played with folk musical instruments. He has collected over three thousand folk ballads and created a lot of popular songs, such us Happy Kids, Song of Herdsmen, Please take a break Comrades PLA Men, Raise the Cup for A Toast, etc .His works were passed down generation after generation. In 1960s, He went through a series of twists and turns but they did not prevent him from composing. His new masterpieces include Aygul, Warm Land, Miss A’Mei. The ethnic dance dramas, symphonies, piano concerts and Guitar that are typical of Chinese opera features came into being. Many of his works have won rewards. Zhu Jian’er, also a famous composer, wrote an inscription for his one of concerts, commending him as “a hard rock at the top of a high mountain and a diligent gardener in the music garden”, which is the best summary for his life of art.
As a quick-minded composer, Shifu won the respects of the people for his extensive subjects in various musical forms and great quantity of creation. His works are smooth and unique, forming an extremely influential genre with unique characteristics, which serves as a real mirror of his thoughts,
 Real thoughts are what Shifu’s creations derived from. His works can arouse people’s sympathy. His poem, Painting Charm, leads us into a world of ambition in which we can feel the charm of Chinese calligraphy. This poem displays his strong comprehension for Chinese painting and stimulates him to convey his understanding into musical creation. What is embraced in the symphonic series of Mukamu and the symphonic poem, Song of Pamir, shows his love for Xinjiang customs and the melodious music there. This kind of music is sure to guide people into a world full of Xinjiang ambience. Missing, as the second section of the sonata, gives a full description of his endeavor, pursuit even the whole life experience that is full of ups and downs. Of course, this will certainly arouse a passion among the audience. His music is always easy to understand and touching.
In his creation, Shifu often listens to the voice from his heart. In The Fourth Symphony, he claims that there’s neither inherent links in tunes nor continuality on rhythms. The basic elements of music are the guidelines that are followed. The tune itself frees its wings in the capacious sky. He has reached a free and easy state, shaking off the professional techniques, and freely expresses his ideas. The creation of the tune turns out to be a pleasant journey as well as a composer’s symbol of maturity. It is just like walking in the garden, which rings brisk and easy to play, both the musician and the performer can give a full play of their own will  
Shifu kept on exploring his field of both creation and study and made fruitful achievements. He has fulfilled many important musical tasks home and abroad. He is one of the most famous and versatile musician in China.
